Dr. Jackson is a pediatrician with a distinguished career in clinical trials services and operations. Most recently, she was Vice President and General Manager, Rare Diseases and Pediatrics at Covance, responsible for strategic and scientific activities for projects in the rare disease and pediatric areas. These responsibilities included assisting in project feasibility, site identification and management, project execution and risk management. Formerly, Dr. Jackson had a 16-year career with Quintiles, Inc. holding positions including Global Head of both the Pediatric Center of Excellence and the Rare Diseases Center of Excellence. Throughout her career, Dr. Jackson worked on a number of projects in a host of therapeutic areas, including metabolic syndromes, immunodeficiency, vaccines, neurological disorders, pulmonary, gastroenterology, neonatology, and oncology.
Dr. Jackson holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She trained in Pediatrics at Tod Children’s Hospital and was a fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center and a research fellow in viral pathogenesis at Glaxo Wellcome. She also served as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine and the University of Illinois-Chicago. Currently, Dr. Jackson is Assistant Consulting Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke.
